These virtual dates have been criticised for falling short of the mark, mainly due to the fact that it is impossible to convey body language and a whole host of other interaction that goes on between people who are communicating in the real world. The developers are quick to point out that the virtual date is not intended as a replacement for real life meetings, but as a fun, logical, next step in getting to know the possible partner you have met through the dating site.
